Also, I have been thinking we need another word for government by the people. That phrase is too long and democracy has an unpleasant ring in being similar to demon.
So, I thought of civilism and, lo and behold, somebody, a Russian, got there ahead of me. He was worrying about what would come after socialism, which is about the allocation of resources, rather than the self-direction of people. Civil behavior, what is required of people living in close proximity to each other, seems a good starting point.
