We have had over half a century of the commercial sector claiming that the market responds to demand and the government is just for dealing with evil doers. That was a big lie. Government is structured to respond to demand. The purpose of the lie was to insure that governmental munificence would be at the back and call of the commercial/industrial/financial sectors. The accumulation of wealth by the one percent was not prompted by antagonism towards the poor, but by indolence and greed.
Unjust stewards. Jesus Christ introduced us to them. But, contemporary exegists claim to be confused because Christ referred to them as “shrewd.” Shrewdness is a commercial virtue, don’t you know?
