Venting Impatience

How do so many self-centered people end up in public service? Is there some mutual attractant?

Mr. Fallon,(County Administrator for Glynn County, GA)
After reading your exchange with Mr. Smith, my spouse of 58 years, let me just observe that local government is where the rubber meets the road–the people who govern have direct input to their public servants. The citizens of Glynn county are not corporate entities of any kind; they are not to be summoned to hear presentations. If they take time to attend a public hearing, they expect and have a right to be heard. For public servants to lecture and/or instruct the citizenry is extremely presumptuous.

While I attended Glynn County meetings for about seven years, I have given up. Time is precious to people our age and we do not wanted it wasted.

Sincerely,
Monica Smith
