If, to be someone of significance, one has to own property, then ownership is what existence is about. Of course, one need not be significant. But the USA culture is such that the insignificant are likely to be abused.
That’s a puzzler. Where does the destructive impulse come from? Why do humans randomly lash out at vegetation; destroy sand castles other have built; vandalize unattended buildings? Is it all because the natural person is not recognized and property assumes the rival sibling’s role? When property is destroyed attention must be paid?
