To arrogate is to claim ownership of something to which one has no title. Surrogacy is mostly associated at present with the hosting of a fetus on behalf of the nominal parents. In any case, under U.S.law, the child is owned.
So, both arrogate and surrogate basically refer to a verbal claim to own. In other words, the spoken word asserts ownership.
How does this relate to “in the beginning was the word”? Are we to conclude that the impetus to creation was to have and to hold? The purpose of human speech is to acquire? If so, then the focus of the U.S. Constitution on property and speech is entirely consistent with biblical myth.
The U.S. is a christian nation because it is all about owning, acquisiion, arrogation.
