We are not used to 90 degree weather anymore.
Also in the news today is the shortage of life-guards. Which reminds me that I passed the life saving test during the summer camp at the Brown School for Girls in Glendora, California in about 1952. I loved swimming and continue to believe that every person living in a country surrounded by water, lakes and raging rivers ought to be taught how to swim.
We took our babies to teach them how to swim at the University pool in NH. Years later, the spouse revealed that the life guard had objected (to him) about my unshaven armpits. He thought it silly and, being a callow young man (30), shruggd it off.It did not occur to him until many years later to object to such impertinence.
