The fourth estate, having arrogated faux power, also resents the very idea of the people governing. The shrinking readership has made them resentful and antagonistic. We are witnessing the birth of democracy and the wise men are aiming to abort it.
From the perspective of the company, an artificial body, the object of its creation is to destroy/divert responsibility for error, which are inevitable. Because the normal response to error is to retreat into inaction, diverting responsibility sort of immunizes the agent and promotes continued operation, rather than stagnation. The CEO gets a big bonus for being the scapegoat, sacrificing himself for the good of the company. Is that not the model provided by christianity?
