Bonus picture, die Brottorte.
We had a lot of pumpernickle slices left over. Toasted and grated and mixed with ground almonds, the crumbs with lots of eggs and a modest amount of sugar produced a cake. Infused with some liquor and decorated with raspberry jelly under a chocolate glaze made it quite delicious. Though, not to grandson’s taste.
I’m thinking the “dough” would make a nice crust for a custard pie.
