Yesterday, I attended the Glynn County Board of Assessors to ask that the marshlands between St. Simons and Sea Island be reviewed for consistency as to valuation/appraisals. In the hope that we’ll eventually reclaim the area for public ownership, I wanted to insure that the numbers are valid.
At first glance they don’t seem to be:

According to the Board, marshland is supposed to be appraised at $50 per acre and the Sea Island acreage is slated to be adjusted. We really should value marshland higher.
