About thirty years ago, getting testing supplies and syringes for a diabetic person was a real hassle, even though she qualified for medicaid. Now, it seems, the problem has been “solved,” but there are new problems. That people are being over-supplied is not a surprise. After all, I routinely get phone calls soliciting my participation in some new program for diabetics, presumably because a tenant using our phone some four years ago had been identified as having the disease. At least, I hope that’s the explanation. I’d hate to think that medical suppliers are just dialing numbers at random to drum up business.
Anyway, the video is instructive.
