The myth that needs to be laid to rest is the myth of free enterprise — i.e. that our public corporations are separate and distinct from commerce, industry and agriculture. Without our public corporations, private corporations cannot thrive; never have.
So, wherefore the myth? The privileged class, used to sucking at the public teat exclusively, don’t want to share with the 99%.
Personally, I still think the financial crisis of 2008 was engineered on purpose by people who miscalculated the response of a man they can’t intimidate.
