Bombs Away

Filed under: Hannah's views, another perspective — Hannah @ 3:39 pm

The reality is that until the advent of the car bomb (designed by the CIA), the suicide bomb and the IED, bombs were delivered from the air. In other words, before the invention of the airplane, mankind was not subjected to aerial bombardment.
This is interesting and particularly relevant to Iraq because both the invasion and the five year occupation have been prompted by a desire to build and maintain airfields for the United States Air Force to facilitate the domination of Asia. Even more relevant is the fact that since the opportunity to retaliate against planes and drones dropping munitions from several thousand feet is virtually impossible, the only option for those who believe that such atrocities merit retaliation is to plant bombs in the ground (IEDs), convert a car or truck into a bomb, or send a patriot on a suicide mission.
In any event, American boots on the ground are not only tasked with providing ’security’ for the airfields, but bear the brunt of the retaliation. While the flyboys soar through the stratosphere and others wield joy sticks to “drive” drones over Iraq from the air-conditioned comfort of cubicles in Nevada, the combat troops are getting blown apart.
